Ileana Amaya
Director of Finance & Administration
Ileana Amaya serves as the Director of Finance and Administration for the Austere environments Consortium for Enhanced Sepsis Outcomes (ACESO). She has a decade of experience leading cross-functional teams focused on project controls. Ileana joined the ACESO Team in 2016 and leads the financial management, reporting, and contractual management for the entire portfolio. Ileana received a BS in Civil Engineering from the University of Maryland at College Park and started her career working for the largest engineering and construction company in the United States. Ileana is certified as a Project Management Professional since 2019.

Chief Science Strategist
Dr. Krishnan serves as the Chief Science Strategist for the Austere environments Consortium for Enhanced Sepsis Outcomes (ACESO). He is passionate and committed to the R&D of immunology solutions for infectious diseases, oncology and inflammation. He has a dozen years of experience in biotech and pharmaceutical organizations such as MedImmune/AstraZeneca and Teva in translating discovery research to the clinic. In his role at ACESO, he is responsible for the transition of infectious disease biology to field-deployable diagnostic and clinical management solutions for resource-limited settings across the globe in collaboration with industry partners. He obtained his PhD in Microbiology and Immunology from the University of Arizona, Tucson.

Kristen Pettrone
Research Physician, Product Development
Dr. Pettrone serves as the Head of Product Development for ACESO. She is a board-certified emergency physician and fellow in the American College of Emergency Physicians and Australasian College for Emergency Medicine. She has over 20 years experience practicing domestically and internationally. Dr. Pettrone also has a Masters in Public Health and completed the Center for Disease Controls Epidemic Intelligence Service where she deployed for the CDC’s 2018 Ebola Response and the COVID-19 response. Dr. Pettrone’s work with ACESO focuses on the translation of basic science research to clinically applicable results through the development of regulated clinical trials.
